I was at the gymnastic state competition in early April with my middle daughter. She was 1 of 120 girls competing that morning and it was broken down into 2 skill levels and each skill level had 2 age groups. I was watching my daughter on one side of the gym and I had noticed that on the other side of the gym that the music station for the floor routine was not working properly. Then all of a sudden, a coach on that side of the gym started to clap with a beat to it. Within 10 to 15 seconds the majority of the crowd, coaches, and gymnasts joined in. But why? On the far side of the gym, a gymnast was doing her floor routine when the music stops and her coach wanted her to have a beat to continue with so that she did not have to stop. The clapping to the beat continued until her floor routine was complete and after her routine the gymnasts gave a big hug to her coach. I was impressed with the quick thinking of the coach and proud to be apart of the crowd that joined in to help a person do her best when life threw her a curve.
